Remote Access

As of 8/19/2010, all SSH from outside of ECE will have to be tunneled through OIT's VPN solution (http://anyc.vpn.gatech.edu)

If you are unfamiliar with the VPN service, please read the FAQ describing Georgia Tech's VPN service.

Information about connecting to OIT's SSL ("AnyConnect") VPN is available on OIT's FAQ site.

When you are done with your session, remember to disconnect from the AnyConnect VPN service.

Faculty and Staff

Faculty and staff can acces ecelinsrvc.ece.gatech.edu from off campus (i.e., from any Internet Service Provider (ISP)) or the GT wireless network after connecting to OIT's SSL VPN Service. After connecting, just ssh to ecelinsrvc.ece.gatech.edu, and then ssh or sftp to the machine(s) you would like to access. See below for Windows clients that you can download. (NOTE: We only support v2 of the ssh protocol. The transfers by ftp over ssh and X11 forwarding features are also supported.)

How do I access my Windows files ("Z-Drive") remotely?

Students

Anyone with an ECE account can access the machines listed below from off-campus (i.e., from any Internet Service Provider (ISP)) or the GT wireless network after connecting to OIT's SSL VPN Service. After connecting to the VPN, just ssh to one of the following machines, and then ssh or sftp to the machine(s) you would like to access (NOTE: We only support v2 of the ssh protocol. The transfers by ftp over ssh and X11 forwarding features are also supported.):

Temporary files and directories more than two weeks old on these machines are deleted daily.

Note: Jobs are limited to one interactive or background process per login for the machines above. Accounts running more than one job will lose login privileges for these machines for two weeks.
