Remote Access

Faculty and Staff

Faculty and staff can access bigzilla.ece.gatech.edu from off-campus (i.e., from any Internet Service Provider (ISP)). All you have to do is ssh2 to bigzilla.ece.gatech.edu, and then ssh or sftp to the machine(s) you would like to access. See below for Windows clients that you can download. (NOTE: We only support v2 of the ssh protocol. The transfers by ftp over ssh and X11 forwarding features are also supported.)

To read email from home, faculty and staff can use any of the following:

Students

Anyone with an ECE account can access the machines listed below from off-campus (i.e., from any Internet Service Provider (ISP)). All you have to do is ssh2 to one of the following machines, and then ssh or sftp to the machine(s) you would like to access (NOTE: We only support v2 of the ssh protocol. The transfers by ftp over ssh and X11 forwarding features are also supported.):

  • yamsrv1.ece.gatech.edu
  • yamsrv2.ece.gatech.edu
  • yamsrv3.ece.gatech.edu
  • yamsrv4.ece.gatech.edu
  • ecelinsrv1.ece.gatech.edu
  • ecelinsrv2.ece.gatech.edu

Note: Jobs are limited to one interactive or background process per login for the machines above. Accounts running more than one job will lose login privileges for these machines for two weeks.

UNIX Users

For UNIX, you will have to contact your network administrator to have ssh2 installed on your machine.
